First and foremost, the fairy light bedecked flower garland was a roaring success at Glastonbury! Not only did it hide my dry-shampooed hair (nice), but I was easily located at 40 paces in the dark!

AND I didn't lose it, so it's definitely coming again next year (admittedly after some minor repairs, mainly sustained through being bounced around on tall shoulders to Major Lazer!) Fabulous festival!

But now, it's back to reality and to my latest commissions..!

  

The first brief was to add some colour onto this gold sinamay hat to co-ordinate with Dee's dress.

I turned this round in an evening and somewhat carelessly forgot to take 'before' pictures or a shot of the finished piece with the dress, but keep your fingers crossed for a couple of photos of Dee looking tres glamorous at the wedding ready for the next post.

Having learned my lesson, here's a picture of Sima's sari and the fancy hairclip I've created for her.

Peacock feathers wouold have been the obvious choice here, but they're considered unlucky at indian weddings, so I've echoed the sentiment in silk and sequins instead.

Sima is all about The Bling ;)

I've been working with a very clever Mother of the Bride over the past couple of weeks. Not only has she got the best collection of beads, threads and trimmings that I've ever seen outside a shop, she's a demon seamstress and has made a fabulous dress in luxurious green/gold silk - she wanted a sophisticated hairband to finish off her look. We settled on a twisted silk bow, which echoes the back of her dress, scattered pearls (real, no less!)  to match her jewellery, and some peacock plummage to add a little height and flight of fancy.
