A stitch in time saves minds

I hate being ill. The first day of Camp Duvet on the sofa is always a novelty, but a full week is interminable, especially when I was struggling to fit my three alter egos' (Work:hats:Real Life) in anyway!! So thank goodness for knitting! It still needs stitching together, but I think this will be just the ticket for remaining chic and warm whilst walking our latest house guests this week ;)

Luckily, I managed to stave off The Lurgy sufficiently to attend a fabulous friend's fabulous mum's jewellery (and hat!) party a couple of weeks ago.

As well as a girly catch up, I got lots of interest and some genuinely lovely feedback, and I bought a new bracelet and necklace to boot ha!

I've made some good progress on the most recent orders, but as my client hasn't seen it yet you'll have to make do with some sneaky peeks for the timebeing!

The hats are off to London at the end of November in preparation for the next leg of their voyage to the other side of the world, so you can definitely see then, and hopefully by the next blog anyway!

This is the most detailed / focused sketching I've done for a specific design so far, and subsequently the closest I've managed to stick to The Plan too - go me! ;)

It's all GO again this week, with an enquiry from a Coco Rose customer, and a new hat hopefully on the way into the window. Admittedly it makes for a slightly stressful Monday evening, but I can't complain, and in the absence of wine (c/o my antibiotics - humph) hot chocolate is seeing me through!

Last minute lining and headband added to Waltzer...nothing like a next day deadline to get all the loose ends tied huh?! ;)

And after finally deciding on the green felt hat's tweed trim, I can't understand why I didn't think of it before! Still a work in progress (eek!) final pictures next time...
Finally, since the blog is happiness focused, here are some other things that have kept me smiling over the past couple of weeks... It's the simple things, eh? :)

Handmade Harbour is guaranteed to chase away the cold dark nights until next time. Meanwhile, I'm off on a secret birthday adventure to countryside cottage next week (EXCITING!) so after some serious R&R I'll hopefully look less like my patron saint The Mad Hatter in time for the next blog! Stay cosy my dears! x

Firstly I hope your feeling much better now. The turban looks wonderful, very Elizabeth Taylor. The green hat is amazing you are so talented. Hope the book sales are going well.

Thanks Ali, I really am - I've got that lovely 'I can do anything' feeling you have when you feel better after being Proper Poorly! :)

I thought so too, channelling my inner diva dahlink! ;) I made the green hat the average size so it's too big for me...otherwise i'd be keeping it! (Yet another one!) ;)

Book sales are good thanks - thanks so much to all of you guys for helping to promote it! xxx

Hi Eleanor thank you for visiting my blog. You mentioned putting the sizzix machine on your Christmas list - I just wanted to let you know that its a very old machine and very limited on the dies. You may want to have a look at the big shot or there are other machines out there that may be better for you. Best to shop around and have a look to see what's out there. Feel free to email me for more info I have friends who work in a couple of craft shops who maybe able to help you decide.

Hope that helps
Anita

Ah OK thanks for letting me know! I'll definitely do some research then - once I've got a better idea of what's out there I'd be most grateful for some more info, thanks so much for offering! :) x

Oh I really hope that you feel better now. I really love that knitted hat in mohair. I bet it is REALLy soft and comfy. Will certainly keep the cold at bay. Fab nails and the tweed goes so well with the green hat. Glad that you are busy and Happy Birthday ;)
